About Tehillah Community Collaborative

We are a non-profit organisation (NPO). We work in the Elsies River, Eden Park and Upington regions where we run preventative programmes and a 24 hour drop-in centre for people who fall victim to violence and abuse, especially women and children. We are run a rehabilitation centre, we take children aged 18 and above.

School-going children and youth are assisted with their homework. We run youth development outreach programmes where the youth are actively involved in combatting crime, drug abuse, teenage pregnancy, HIV and AIDS awareness. We distribute food parcels and run a daily soup kitchen for people living with HIV. We provide home-based care services for sick people where we bathe them, cook and clean for them and ensure that they adhere to their treatment regimens.

Our monthly TB, HIV and AIDS support group hosts various events to interact with one another. A weekly support group is also held for the youth, as well as HIV and AIDS, substance abuse and victim empowerment workshops. Our social worker assists and then refers people with applications for birth certificates, identity documents and social grants to the relevant government departments.

We do HIV counselling and testing (HCT) and perform medical male circumcisions (MMC). We run a gardening project to supplement our feeding scheme. We are open from 08:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday. Our services are free of charge.

Tehillah Community Collaboration is crying out for help, hopping that they could get a bigger facility. An offer has been put forth to purchase a hotel and with any help rendered from good samaritans, Tehillah will be able to grow futher in its services.
